1574 players had registered for this IPL mega auction 2025. Out of these, 1000 players have been excluded. Now bids will be placed on only 574 players. That means IPL has shortlisted these players.
This time, a total of Rs 641 crore is left in the purse of all the 10 teams. While all these teams have to buy a total of 204 players. In such a situation, there is bound to be a lot of money raining on the players. This time big players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal will participate in the auction.
All of them have also listed themselves for Rs 2 crore. The list of foreign players includes stars like Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, David Warner, James Anderson, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis. In such a situation, it will have to be seen who beats whom in the list of most expensive players.

Shami and Starc listed themselves for Rs 2 crore in the IPL Mega Auction 2025
Mitchell Starc is the most expensive player in IPL history. He was bought by KKR for Rs 24.50 crore in 2024. He is back in the auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore.
Mohammed Shami, who has not played any cricket match since the 2023 ODI World Cup final in November last year due to various injuries, has also not been retained by Gujarat Titans. He has also registered himself at a base price of Rs 2 crore.
