British heavy metal band Grim Reaper frontman Steve Grimmett died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 62 on Monday, August 15, according to the band’s social media pages.
“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write but it’s with a heavy & shattered heart to say that my beloved Steve died suddenly & unexpectedly on Monday 15th August,” his wife Millie wrote on Facebook.
“Wait for me, my love. Until we are together again. Your Millie xxx”

Steve’s brother Mark Grimmett wrote: “I don’t really know where to start so I guess I will just come right out with it. It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I have to tell you all as many of you know him my very talented brother Steve Grimmett very sadly passed away today, my heart goes out to Millie his wife my Mum and Dad, Russell, Sami and Ethan. I will miss you more than words will ever say, love you bro xx”.

The Grim Reapers, formed in 1979, was a British heavy metal band from the new wave of the British heavy metal era. The band was formed in Droitwich, England by guitarist Nick Bowcott, and has undergone several lineup changes over the years.
However, frontman Steve Grimmett has remained the only constant member since joining the band in 1982. Due to legal reasons, the band was forced to change its name after reforming in 2006 and has since been fronted by Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper.
The Grim Reaper was perhaps best known for the title tracks of his first three albums: See You In Hell (1983), Fear No Evil (1985), and Rock You To Hell (1987). After gaining notoriety after appearing on and butt-head.
