Jay Briscoe wrestled on ROH’s debut show, The Era of Honor Begins, while Pennsylvania’s child labor laws forced Mark to stay out of the ring for the Philadelphia event. The duo eventually gained a reputation for their intensity and authenticity and performed for several independent promotions, establishing themselves as one of the best tag teams in the entire wrestling business.

Jay Briscoe was one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions duo with his brother, Mark Pugh, who wrestles under the name Mark Briscoe.
The Briscoe Brothers were at the ROH show Final Battle last month in Arlington, Texas, where they took on the ROH tag team championship against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, collectively known as FTR, in a critically acclaimed dog collar match. The Briscoe Brothers won the championship.
FTR and the Briscoes had a trilogy of matches in 2022, culminating in a dog collar match in Arlington. The entire trilogy was critically acclaimed, with the final match being called the match of the year by many in wrestling circles.
The tag team rivals also had their first match against each other last April in Garland, North Texas, and it was also met with fanfare and acclaim.
The Briscoe Brothers held the ROH Tag Team Championship a total of 13 times in their 20 years with the promotion.
Jay Briscoe himself is a former Ring of Honor World Champion, having won the top belt twice in his career.
