Hoonigan’s Instagram account confirmed the death of its founder on Monday. Rally Driver Ken Block, a legendary figure in the car enthusiast community, especially from the Gymkhana series, has passed away at the age of 55.
“It is with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away today in an ice earthquake accident,” the statement said. “Ken was a visionary, pioneer, and icon. Most importantly, a father and husband. We will miss him incredibly. Please respect the family’s privacy at this time as they grieve.”The Wasatch County, Utah Sheriff’s Office posted more information on their Facebook page about the incident:
“On January 2, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Wasatch County 911 Center received a call reporting a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area. The driver, Kenneth Block, was a 55-year-old man from Park City, Utah, riding a snowmobile down a steep slope when the snowmobile rolled over and landed on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.”

Professional rally driver Ken Block has passed away after a snowmobile accident
The sheriff’s office, Utah State Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service responded by calling 911. Although he was snowboarding with a group, the statement said Block was riding alone when the accident occurred. The Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office is still working to determine the official cause of death.
Block has been working with Audi on an upcoming Gymkhana project while taking part in various winter sports outside of the motoring business. He left behind his wife and three children.
