As the CMA Awards 2022 were presented on Wednesday night, country music threw a party.
New artist of the year and female vocalist of the year went to Lainey Wilson, a first-time nominee.
“I know I’m new to a lot of you, but I won’t let you down,” This is my promise to you.” Wilson declared in one acceptance speech.
Additionally, Luke Combs took the stage as both a performer and winner, winning both the entertainer of the year award and the album of the year award.
Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and the Black Keys performed a moving tribute to Loretta Lynn. Elle King and The Black Keys also paid tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, who passed away last month at the age of 87.
The event also featured Kelly Clarkson, Carly Pearce, Kelsea Ballerini, and Luke Bryan as hosts.
The Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Alan Jackson, who was also honored by Bentley and Wilson.
A big night was also had by Luke Combs, who won both the Entertainer and album of the Year awards.
Loretta Lynn was honored by Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood in a touching tribute. Jerry Lee Lewis, who passed away last month at 87, was also honored by Elle King and The Black Keys.
Peyton Manning and Kelly Clarkson performed with Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce, while Luke Bryan served as co-host.
Alan Jackson, the recipient of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, was also honored by Bentley and Wilson.
